iTunes University Comes
to Lehigh
There are over 20 courses
using iTunes University for the Fall 2007 semester and
several campus departments contributing content to the
public site, recently launched after two semesters of pilot
testing. It is the beginning of a rich library of
interesting audio and video podcasts that highlight many of
the wonderful things going on at Lehigh. Visit Lehigh’s
iTunes University
here.
The Lehigh University
iTunes U site provides access to a wide range of digital
audio and video content from a custom iTunes University
Store. The content on Lehigh’s site is either accessible as
a “guest” or as a “Lehigh registered user.” A free cross
platform service available to universities, this site has
the same look and feel as Apple’s popular online music,
video, and podcast service. Students who are enrolled in a
course that is using iTunes U automatically see their course
content when they log in to Lehigh’s iTunes U site from
Blackboard.
The iTunes application
allows clients to organize and manage podcast
subscriptions. Clients can subscribe to podcasts and receive
new podcasts as they are released. The audio or video can be
played on an iPod, Mac or PC. The ability to download
content to a portable device is an added advantage for
students and faculty on the go.
In addition to academic
podcasts, there is a growing number of publicly available
podcasts that highlight athletics, alumni, music, news,
guest lectures and much more. There is a Linderman Library
iPod tour and a campus tour. Visit the site; listen and
watch what is available! The wonderful look and feel of
Lehigh’s iTunes U webpage was developed by University
Relations. To contribute content, please contact Ilena Key
