Course Site and Windows 7 Transitions
On TrackIn November, Library and Technology
Services announced the university’s move from the Blackboard
learning management system to Course Site. This transition
will occur throughout 2010, with Course Site being fully in
use for the fall semester, 2010.
Professors teaching over two hundred courses have opted to
use Course Site for the spring semester. Although courses at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels from all four
colleges are being taught with Course Site, the RCEAS leads
the adoption pack with 73 courses in use for the spring
semester.
Training sessions on various Course Site topics are being
taught throughout the spring, summer and fall. For more
information on Course Site, see
http://www.lehigh.edu/coursesite.
LTS is also preparing for a transition to the Microsoft
Windows 7 operating system. LTS has configured some
computers at the following sites with the 64-bit version
Windows 7 for testing:
- Fairchild Martindale Computing Center 180
- Fairchild Library
- Rauch Business Center 60.
Faculty should test any software required for courses,
including software that is delivered via the "Install
Software" web pages, as well as software installed from
media or downloaded, at one of these locations. For a list
of applications found to be compatible and incompatible, as
well as general Windows 7 information, visit
http://www.lehigh.edu/win7 .
