LTS Advances Lehigh
On November 13,
2009, Library Catalog Librarian Doreen Herold was the Past
President's "Hot Topics" Speaker for the meeting of the
Governing Board of the Associated College Libraries of
Central Pennsylvania. She presented a talk about open source
options for libraries, especially with regard to the Kuali
OLE Project.
Client Services Director Tim Foley addressed "Applying
Lincoln's Leadership Principles to IT" at the Mid-Atlantic EDUCAUSE Conference in Baltimore in January.
At the ACM Spring Management Symposium in April in Victoria,
British Columbia, Gale Fritsche, Team Leader for Desktop and
Scientific Computing, is giving a presentation entitled:
"Windows 7 or Bust: what will it mean to your organization?"
At the same
meeting Tim Foley is making two presentations: "Managing in
troubled times: Lincoln leadership principles and IT part 2"
with Allan Chen of the Santa Clara School of Law and "Second
Life: An Innovation in Higher Education" with Chemistry
Professor and LTS Faculty Fellow Natalie Foster,
Instructional Technologist Johanna Brams, and Melody Buckner
from the University of Arizona.
Digital Project Coordinator Julia Maserjian was a panelist
for the "Community of Records in the Age of New Media:
Family History as Public History" program at the National
Council on Public History annual conference in Portland,
Oregon, this past March.
Tim McGeary, Team Leader for Library Systems, authored the
chapter “Investing in Electronic Resources Using Capital
Budgeting” in Library Data: Empowering Practice and
Persuasion. Darby Orcutt, ed. Santa Barbara, CA,
Libraries Unlimited, pp. 237-260.
In January Tim
and Michael Winkler, University of Pennsylvania, presented
"The Kuali OLE Story" at the Mid-Atlantic EDUCAUSE
Conference in Baltimore. McGeary has also recently been
appointed to two committees: the Code4Lib Journal Editorial
Committee and the NISO ERM Data Standards & Best Practices
Review Committee.
Sherri Yerk-Zwickl, Team Leader for Instructional
Technology, served as a member of the conference planning
team representing the Enrollment Management track for the
annual SunGard Summit Conference held in April, 2010. Sherri
also served as proposal reviewer for the Leadership,
Governance and Management track for the annual EDUCAUSE
Conference during October, 2010.
