As the University continues work on the campus planning process “Advancing Our Intellectual Footprint”, LTS has crafted its 5-year strategic plan to align with this process. We invite LTS Connection readers to peruse the new plan.

The growth of the LTS graduate development program, documented in the second article in this issue, exemplifies our attempts to support the University’s strategic focus on graduate education.

Two articles cover new versions of existing services: the development of a new library services website incorporating Web 2.0 features, more news and quick access to popular services; and a description of a new Lehigh VPN (Virtual Private Network) that enables secure connections to Lehigh from other locations.

Our Special Collections continues to seek out and gratefully receive gifts of primary source material of great interest to scholars. This issue also summarizes two surveys that illustrate our efforts to understand user needs and perceptions as we further refine our help desk and video services to meet changing campus requirements and to take advantage of new technologies.

Finally, we celebrate the presentations delivered and awards received by LTS staff over the last six months.
